Biography
Dr. Jensen started in the medical field when she was 18 years old as a medical assistant for her father's solo family practice office in a small town in rural Ohio. Shortly thereafter, she became a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician and volunteered for the local community through EMS services. Throughout her undergraduate studies, she volunteered in the Emergency Department while attending Wright State University. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, and a minor in French language. She pursued her Medical Doctor degree from Ross University School of Medicine, completing her clinical training in cities with large health care disparities, including Chicago, Miami, Atlanta, and Detroit. Dr. Jensen's passion for health care equity flourished during this time. She then moved to Bristol, TN to complete her residency training at East Tennessee State University.
Residency training in a rural, underserved area provided a unique position for Dr. Jensen to gain a vast amount of experience in all of aspects of family medicine, and hone in on her special interests in obstetrics, lactational medicine, medication assisted treatment for opioid use disorder, women's health, diabetic care, and integrated team-based care with licensed social workers and clinical pharmacists.
She brings all of these experiences together to provide a comprehensive approach to each patient. Direct Primary Care removes the "red tape" of providing medical care to all. Dr. Jensen is ready to welcome patients from all walks of life.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Jensen enjoys her time with her loving and supportive husband, their children, and dog.
